Qualifiers will be held in North America, Europe, and Asia, with each region’s top players competing at the Grand Finals in Japan.
Qualifiers and Grand Finals total prize money will amount to $90,000.

RULES

1. DEAD OR ALIVE 6 World Championship Overview

The DEAD OR ALIVE 6 World Championship (“DOA6WC”) is a worldwide tournament tour featuring “DEAD OR ALIVE 6” (“DOA6”) the latest 3D fighting game released by KOEI TECMO GAMES CO., LTD. (“KOEI TECMO GAMES”)
DOA6WC is comprised of 4 types of tournaments. The first type is the “Offline Fatal Match,” the second type is the “Offline DOA6WC Point Match,” the third type is the “Online DOA6WC Point Match,” and the fourth type is the “DOA6WC Last Chance Match.”
Based on the results of the four types of tournament held around the world, players will battle for one of the 16 qualifying positions for the final tournament, the “DOA6WC Finals” to be held in 2019.

2. DOA6WC Qualification Details

The 16 slots for the DOA6WC Finals Qualifier Spots will be determined as follows.

1. Three (3) qualifier spots will be given to each of the tournament winners of the “Offline Fatal Match Event” (CEO 2019, Summer Jam, The Fatal Match in Japan)

2. Eleven (11) qualifier spots will be awarded based on the final ranking of the “DOA6WC Point Leaderboard.”

  • DOA6WC Points will be awarded to the top players based on the results of the “Offline Fatal Match,” “Offline DOA6WC Point Match,” and “Online DOA6WC Point Match.”
  • The “DOA6WC Point Leaderboard” is made up of three (3) leaderboards: ASIA Leaderboard; US Leaderboard; and EMEA Leaderboard. Players will be sorted according to their place of residence.
  • Qualifier spots will be awarded to the top 3 players of the ASIA Leaderboard, the top 5 players of the US Leaderboard, and the top 3 players of the EMEA Leaderboard.
  • Throughout 2019, there will be three (3) “Offline Fatal Match,” eight (8) “Offline DOA6WC Point Match,” and four (4) “Online DOA6WC Point Match” held around the world.

3. Two (2) qualifier spots will be awarded to the winner, and the runner-up of the DOA6WC Last Chance Match. This tournament is scheduled to take place in Japan on the same day as the DOA6WC Finals.

Additional Rules

  • Players who are awarded a qualifier spot from winning an Offline Fatal Match will be excluded from the DOA6WC Point Leaderboard.
  • The winners of the Offline Fatal Match can participate in other tournaments even after earning a qualifier spot, and can earn DOA6WC Points and prize money. (However, the DOA6WC Points will be considered null.)
  • In the event that players who have already earned a qualifier spot from winning an Offline Fatal Match become the winner of a separate Offline Fatal Match, the runner-up will be awarded with a qualifier spot from that separate Offline Fatal Match. (If the runner-up has already earned a qualifier spot, then the qualifier spot will be provided to the 3rd place winner, then the 4th place winner then so forth down the rankings until the qualifier spot is awarded to a player who has not been awarded with a qualifier spot.)
  • In the event that a player who has been awarded with a qualifier spot from winning an Offline Fatal Match decides to withdraw from his/her qualifier spot, then the qualifier spot will be awarded to the runner-up if he/she has not yet earned a qualifier spot. (If the runner-up has already earned a qualifier spot, then the qualifier spot will be provided to the 3rd place winner, then the 4th place winner then so forth down the rankings until the qualifier spot is awarded to a player who has not been awarded with a qualifier spot.)
  • In the event that a player who has been awarded a qualifier spot from the final rankings of the DOA6WC Point Leaderboard decides to withdraw from his/her qualifier spot, from that player’s DOA6WC Point Leaderboard the next highest ranked player who does not yet have a qualifier spot will be awarded with a qualifier spot.
  • In all of the Offline Fatal Matches and Offline DOA6WC Point Matches, players are free to participate regardless of where they resides. (However, this is not permitted in Online DOA6WC Point Matches.)
  • The 14 players who have been awarded with a qualifier spot in advance of the DOA6WC Finals event date cannot participate in the DOA6WC Last Chance Match.
  • In the event that players who have been awarded qualifier spots in advance of the DOA6WC Finals decline from participating in the Finals, then the number of players who can be awarded with qualifier spots at the DOA6WC Last Chance Match will be increased according the number qualifier spots that are declined.
  • The 14 players who have been awarded with a qualifier spot in advance of the DOA6WC Finals event date are eligible for financial support from KOEI TECMO GAMES for transportation and lodging in order to attend the DOA6WC Finals. If financial support is required, please consult with the tournament organizers in advance.
  • As per the above rules, players cannot be awarded with multiple qualifications spots.

3. DOA6WC Point System

DOA6WC Points are points earned in order to gain one of 11 qualifying spots. As mentioned in the previous section, the 11 qualifying spots from the DOA6WC Point Leaderboard will be awarded based on the final ranking.

  • The “DOA6WC Point Leaderboard” is made up of three (3) leaderboards: ASIA Leaderboard; US Leaderboard; and EMEA Leaderboard. Players will be sorted according to their place of residence.
  • Qualifier spots will be awarded to the top 3 players of the ASIA Leaderboard, the top 5 players of the US Leaderboard, and the top 3 players of the EMEA Leaderboard.
  • Players cannot change their affiliated DOA6WC Point Leaderboard once the DOA6WC tournament period begins. While players are free to participate in tournaments anywhere around the world, earned DOA6WC Points will be added to and reflected on the players’ regional DOA6WC Point Leaderboard.

DOA6WC Points will be awarded to the top players based on the results of the “Offline Fatal Match,” “Offline DOA6WC Point Match,” and “Online DOA6WC Point Match.”

  • The winner of the Offline Fatal Match will be awarded with a qualifier spot, while the remaining top 16 players (from runner-up to 16th place) will be awarded DOA6WC Points as listed below.
  • In the Offline DOA6WC Point Matches and Online DOA6WC Point Matches, the top 16 players (from winner to 16th place) will be awarded DOA6WC Points as listed below.

4. DOA6WC Prize Money

Prize money will be awarded to the top players based on the final standings of the Offline Fatal Match, Offline DOA6WC Point Match and DOA6WC Finals. Prize money will not be awarded for the Online DOA6WC Point Match and DOA6WC Last Chance Match.

  • For the Offline Fatal Match, Offline DOA6WC Point Match, DOA6WC Finals, the top 8 players will be awarded the following prize money from KOEI TECMO GAMES.

5. DOA6WC Game Rules

The following game rules are the official rule of the DOA6WC, and apply to all matches – ie. Offline Fatal Match; Offline DOA6WC Point Match; Online DOA6WC Point Match; DOA6WC Last Chance Match; and the DOA6WC Finals.

Game Settings

  • Game: DEAD OR ALIVE 6
  • Updates: Use the latest patch released on the date of each tournament.
  • Hardware: Use hardware according to the rules set by each tournament organizer.
  • Round settings: Normal Life 60 seconds, first to win 3 rounds
  • Stages: Random (excluding MIYABI, UNFORGETTABLE, FORBIDDEN FORTUNE, HIDDEN GARDEN, CHAMBER OF POTENTIAL, SEA SIDE EDEN)
  • Hit Effects: OFF
  • Dirt: ON
  • Water & Sweat: ON
  • Violence Minimization: OFF
  • Softness: OFF
  • eSports Mode: ON

Common rules

  • Tournaments will be double-elimination tournaments
  • Players that win the first two matches of their set will proceed in the tournament up until TOP 8. From Top 8 and beyond players that win the first to 3 matches proceed until the event/tournament is over.
  • No restrictions on what characters can be used.
  • Before each match set, players can mutually decide who will play as 1P or 2P and proceed with selecting their character. If there is an issue with the players position or if the players cannot agree on which character to select first, they can engage in rock-paper-scissors and the winner will determine seating and who selects their character first.
  • During a match set, a player who wins one match must remain with the character they selected until they lose a match or the match set is over. The player that loses a match from a match set is allowed to switch characters if necessary.

Prohibitions

  • Any players caught engaging in any of the activities below will be asked to leave the premises.
    • Interfering with players during matches (visual interference, physical interference)
    • Disruptive activities (Physical violence, menacing actions, threatening language and behavior, abuse of any form, etc.)
    • Interfering with game play (deliberately breaking game equipment, turning power on/off, abuse of the pause function, etc.)
  • Players who are not at the required spot by the match time will be disqualified, and their opponent will automatically win. Players should ensure they are in the vicinity of their match stations 10 minutes in advance of their matches.
  • Coaching during matches is prohibited. If the referees finds that unfair coaching was received, the player who received the coaching may be disqualified.

Hardware and software issues

  • When problems occur in levers and buttons, players can raise their hands and report the issue to the referee and ask for the match to be paused. If there are problems with levers, buttons etc., number of rounds won when the game was paused will be replicated, and the match will begin from the start of the round.
  • For matches that are paused due to errors form the game devices, power interruptions or any other external cause, the number of round won when the game was paused will be duplicated and the match will begin from the start of the round.
  • If players unnecessarily pause a match, the player who declared the pause will lose one (1) round.
  • For any malfunctions outside of obvious glitches such as buttons and levers not responding, the player who declared the pause will lose that round.
  • Players will be given one minute prior to the start of the match to change and check controller settings and/or confirm settings. Players requesting rematches after the match due to malfunctioning levers etc. will not be allowed.
  • Special functions for specific equipment such as setting up macros or automatic rapid button mashing are banned, and if any such functions are found to be used, players will be disqualified.
